These values can be used to select which of the above demagnetizing methods are used for which types of items. 0 (zero) means no demagnetizing, 1 (one) means use Type 1 demagnetizing, and so on.

Note, that for magnetic media such as audio tapes and video tapes, demagnetizing should not be used at all.
